SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men’s and women’s track and field teams were in action today at the Susquehanna Open hosted by Susquehanna University and both teams were well represented with strong performances.
On the men’s side Greg Mock (Sicklerville, N.J./Timbercreek) led the way with two second place performances. He placed second in the 55m dash with a time of 6.55 and second in the 200 meter run with a time of 23.08.
Also earning a second place finish was sophomore Randy Sylvia (Johnstown, Pa./Richland) who threw 42-08.75 in the men’s weight throw establishing a LHU school record in the event. Sylvia broke his own record set earlier this season.
Freshman Dan Picarella (Selinsgrove, Pa./Mount Carmel) was third in the triple jump with a mark of 42-08.75.
Cory Spidell (Home, Pa./Marion Center) and Brandon Pomertantz (Holland, Pa./Council Rock North) went 3-4 in the mile for the Bald Eagles.
The Lady Eagles were once again led by junior high-jump specialist Chelsea Morse (Beaver Dams, N.Y./Campbell-Savona) who won the high jump and also added a third place showing in the long jump.
She won the high jump with a mark of 5-05.75.
Amanda Reinmiller (Conyngham, Pa./Hazleton) made it a 1-2 finish for the Lady Eagles in the high jump after taking second in the event with a jump of 5-02.75.
Kristie Warren (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) was right behind Morse and added a fourth place finish in the long jump.
Shala Simms (Ardmore, Pa./Upper Darby) was second in the 400 with a time of 1:00.33 and Alaina Leonard (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) added a third place finish in the weight throw with a mark of 49-03.50.
Leonard was also fourth in the shot put.
The Lady Eagles also took first in the 4x400 meter relay and second in the 4x2.
Both teams are back in action next weekend at Kent State University.
