Terray becomes LHU’s first ever PSAC swimming champion
 

Freshman Amanda Terray is all smiles as she posses with her PSAC Championship plaque.

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – Freshman Amanda Terray (Coaldale, Pa./Panther Valley) of the Lock Haven University swim team made history today as she became the first woman in school history to win an individual Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship.

Today marked the final day of the conference championships and the Lady Eagles finished in ninth overall and second among women’s only programs.

Terray made history in the 200 backstroke, an event she has dominated all season long. She swam 2:04.27, which is one of the top 10 times in the country this year at the Division II level.

The freshman sensation is now qualified to compete in for events at the upcoming NCAA Division II National Championships.

Sophomore Amanda Palmer (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) finished 11th in the 200 yard butterfly just missing her lifetime best in the event.

The Lady Eagles took 11th in the 400 yard freestyle relay one spot ahead of Millersville University, which proved to the difference in LHU placing one spot above MU in the team standings.

Swimming on the relay along with Terray was Brittany Williams (North East, Pa./North East), Caroline Sweeney (Brielle, N.J./Manasquan) and senior Kelly Grieneisen (Pittsburgh/Plum) who was competing for the Haven for the last time.
