Bald Eagle bats at it again, LHU downs Charleston 11-9
 

Shortstop Zach Schuler led the Bald Eagles at the plate today after going 3-for-5 with two homers and six RBI.

FT MYERS, Fla. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (5-8) downed the University of Charleston 11-9 for the second time in row as the Bald Eagles once again got solid offensive production.

It marks the second time in three days the Haven topped Charleston as the Bald Eagles improve to 5-8 on the season.

Lock Haven got their 11 runs off 16 hits.

The Bald Eagles have been putting wood on the ball the entire time they’ve been down in the Sunshine state, but they’re really starting to find holes allowing them to get some solid offensive production to help what’s been a strong pitching effort thus far.

In the last two games LHU has outscored Charleston 33-12 and racked up 39 hits in two games.

Charleston’s nine runs came off of 13 hits and they led early after posting a three-run first inning.

Lock Haven picked up two runs in the third and tacked on five in the fourth to the take the lead for good.

Zach Schuler (Mt. Wolf, Pa./Spring Grove) led the Haven at the plate after going 3-for-5 with two homeruns while racking up six RBI.

Teddy Stake (Lewistown, Pa./Indian Valley) was 3-for-4 with one RBI and Mark Strouse (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) went 3-for-6 with a double and three RBI.

Matt Palko (Freeland, Pa./Hazleton Area) and Evan Petro (Johnstown, Pa./Richland) both had multiple hit games as they each went 2-for-4 with a double and triple, respectively.

Tim Bremen (Effort, Pa./Sussex County C.C.) had a double and one RBI.

Jordan Yohn (Three Springs, Pa./Southern Huntington) got the nod on the mound and picked up the win after throwing five innings.

He gave up five runs on six hits, walked four and struck out five.

Erik Christensen (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) worked the final 2-2/3 innings while allowing just one hit and zero runs. He recorded two strikeouts. Christensen did pick up the save on the day.

The Bald Eagles are back in action tomorrow at the 16th annual Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic when they take on Southwest Minnesota State in a doubleheader.
