Baseball splits with Bloom for second consecutive day
 

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – For the second consecutive day the Lock Haven University (8-12) and Bloomsburg University (5-15) baseball teams split in doubleheader action.

The Bald Eagles took game one at Bloomsburg 10-9 in extra innings and the host Huskies took game two 1-0.

A Teddy Stake (Lewistown, Pa./Indian Valley) single in the top half of the eighth inning drove in Mark Strouse (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) giving the Haven the go ahead and eventual game-winning run.

Zach Schuler (Mt. Wolf, Pa./Spring Grove) was 2-for-3 with two RBI and Evan Petro (Johnstown, Pa./Richland) went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Jordan Yohn (Three Springs, Pa./Southern Huntington) got the start on the mound and went 6-2/3 innings. He gave up 10 hits and eight runs, seven of which were earned. He only walked three and struck out three Huskies.

Andrew Simonik (Jermyn, Pa./Lakeland) was credited with the win for LHU after 1-1/3 innings of action.

The Bald Eagles were shutout in game two 1-0.

Schuler had another multiple hit game as he went 2-for-3 while Strouse also went 2-for-3.

Tyler Rumsey (Mansfield, Pa./Mansfield) went all six innings for the Haven. He gave up five hits and struck out two.

The Bald Eagles are back in action on Tuesday, March 25 when the play host to Columbia Union College. The two teams split games earlier in the season. Doubleheader action Tuesday is set to 1 p.m.
