LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Sophomore Mark Strouse (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) of the Lock Haven University baseball team has been named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Player of the Week for his recent efforts in leading the Haven on the diamond.
The Bald Eagles leadoff man had a strong four-game outing for Lock Haven as it split two doubleheaders with Bloomsburg in consecutive days.
The first game of the series saw Strouse get the Bald Eagles off to strong start as he drilled a leadoff homerun over the leftfield fence putting LHU up 1-0 early as it went on to win 4-3.
Over the four-game span, Strouse hit .538 and was 7-for-13.
He had one homerun and two RBI and combined his strong performance at the plate with a sensational defensive effort in centerfield for the Bald Eagles.
Strouse recorded a .769 slugging percentage of the four games that saw the Haven go 2-2.
He was a perfect 2-for-2 on stolen base attempts, with six putouts and perfect fielding percentage.
Strouse and the Bald Eagles are back in action tomorrow (Tuesday, March 25) at 1 p.m. when they play host Columbia Union College in non-conference action.
