LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Lock Haven University baseball team (10-18) dropped both games of a home doubleheader to Mansfield University (19-8) today at Foundation Field.
Mansfield, who was ranked No. 5 in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II North Atlantic Regional poll won 7-1 and 10-4.
In game one Zach Schuler (Mt. Wolf, Pa./Spring Grove) went 2-for-3 at the plate and Matt Palko (Freeland, Pa./Hazelton Area) picked up the Haven’s only RBI.
In game two the Bald Eagles were up 3-1 after one inning, but gave up seven runs in the top of the third.
James Zimmerman (Woodland, Pa./Clearfield Area) was 2-for-3 with a RBI in game two.
Schuler hit .500 over the two games going 3-for-6 at the plate.
The Bald Eagles are back in action when they play host to Indiana (Pa.) University in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division action on Friday, April 4 at 1 p.m. IUP was ranked No. 6 in the latest regional poll.
