Blickenstaff named National Player of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Junior Jessica Blickenstaff (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) of the Lock Haven University lacrosse team has been named Women’sLacrosse.com Division II National Player of the Week for her recent efforts in leading the No. 5 Lady Eagles.

LHU enjoyed a 3-0 week last week, which included a big regional win over No. 7 Gannon University and Blickenstaff was a huge reason.

She continued to pace the Haven’s explosive offense with a 14 point week. The speedy midfielder scored 10 goals and assisted on four others. For her efforts Blickenstaff also garnered Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Player of the Week honors.

So far this week LHU is 2-0 and has extended its win streak to six games. Blickenstaff has eight goals and nine assists already in the two wins this week.

The 2007 National Midfielder of the Year is leading the Lady Eagles in every major offensive category this season including goals, assists and total points with 45, 21 and 66, respectively.

Blickenstaff and the rest of the Lady Eagles are back in action tomorrow (Saturday, April 12) at 1 p.m. when they travel to East Stroudsburg University in conference action.
