#5 Lady Eagles downed by #4 West Chester
 

Leigh Titus scored four goals and dished out a pair of assists today in the loss to West Chester.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The No. 5 Lock Haven University lacrosse team (10-3, 8-2) lost to No. 4 West Chester University (12-1, 9-0) in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) thriller 18-12 at home today on Charlotte Smith Field.

The showdown was intense from the opening draw and the Lady Eagles fed off the loud and boisterous crowd less than two minutes in, scoring the first goal of the game.

Sophomore Leigh Titus (Towaco, N.J./Montville) scored the first of her four goals in the game 1:33 in.

West Chester was quick to respond, as the visitors went on a three goal run.

LHU wasn’t going down without a fight. Down 3-1, with 21:44 on the clock Amber Hoch (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) scored off a Caitlyn Watts (Willow Grove, Pa./Archbishop Wood) assist.

Hoch’s goal sparked a three goal run for the Lady Eagles.

The first half finished with West Chester leading 11-7 after a furious opening 30 minutes.

LHU was quick to strike in the second, scoring less than a minute in as Hoch added the second of her four goals on the afternoon, cutting the WCU lead to 11-8.

LHU and WCU battled through out the final 29 minutes, but Lock Haven just couldn’t overcome the Golden Rams.

Along with Titus and Hoch, Jessica Blickenstaff (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) also scored four goals on the day as they were the only three players to score for the Lady Eagles.

Titus and Hoch both six points as each dished a pair of helpers.

Sophomore goalie Kira Nuttall (Towson, Md./Loch Raven) made 11 saves in the loss.

The Lady Eagles are back in action on Saturday, April 19 at 1 p.m. when they travel to Millersville University for conference action.
