LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (16-32, 5-13 PSAC West) dropped both games of a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division doubleheader today against visiting Shippensburg University (31-21, 12-6 PSAC West).
Shippensburg, who was ranked No. 3 in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) NCAA Division II North Atlantic Regional poll, won 9-0 and 5-0, shutting the Bald Eagles out in both contests.
Prior to the start of the game the Lock Haven baseball team took time to honor and thank 2008 seniors Tim Bremen (Effort, Pa./Sussex County, C.C.) and Pat Young (Allensville, Pa./Indian Valley).
Young took to the mound in game one for LHU and went four innings, striking out two.
His two K’s today ran his career total to 184, fifth best all-time among Bald Eagle pitchers.
The Bald Eagle bats were quite as they recorded only nine hits over the two-game span.
Lock Haven is back in action tomorrow at Shippensburg in their final doubleheader of the 2008 season.
