ITHACA, N.Y. – The Lock Haven University men’s and women’s track & field teams were in action yesterday (Sunday, April 27) at the Big Red Outdoor Invitational, hosted by Cornell University.

Both the Bald and Lady Eagles turned in some solid performances in preparation for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships, which kick off on Thursday afternoon at Indiana (Pa.) University.

Leading the way on the men’s side was Greg Mock (Sicklerville, N.J./Timbercreek), who took first in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.97. He also added a third place showing in the 200 with a time of 22.33.

Along with Mock, senior Paul Martin (Pickering, Ontario/Pine Ridge Secondary) also had a strong day on the track. He won the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 52.32 and was second in the 110 hurdles with a time of 14.82.

Nick Hilton (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township) turned in a solid outing the men’s 1,500 meter run. He was second with a 3:57.45.

The Lady Eagles also saw some solid outings yesterday at Cornnell.

Kami Roth (Elysburg, Pa./Wilkes University) had a strong showing the women’s javelin, winning the event with a throw of 131-01.

Also turning a in solid day in the women’s throws was Alaina Leonard (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) who was fourth in the hammer with a mark of 151-00. She also added a fifth-place showing in the discus with a throw of 124-00.

Jenny Scheler (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) was sixth in the women’s hammer with a throw of 137-08.

Malika Miller (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) was second in the triple jump with a jump of 37-11.25.

Shala Simms (Ardmore, Pa./Upper Darby) turned in a solid tune up for the PSAC championships. She was third in the 400 with a time of 59.67 and fifth in the 1,500 with a time of 4:53.97.

Meagan Wolf (Pottsown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) was fourth in the women’s 400 with a time of 59.95, right behind Simms.
