LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Junior Jessica Blickenstaff (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) of the No. 6 Lock Haven University lacrosse team has been named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Player of the Week.
Blickenstaff, who’s had big week after big week this season, did it again leading the Lady Eagles to a 3-0 week.
Over the three game-span, all wins in conference play, she recorded 23 points including 12 goals and 11 assists.
Her biggest game came in the 16-13 win over local rival Bloomsburg University as Blickenstaff scored a game-high six goals in memorable fashion.
Needing only one goal to tie the LHU all-time career goal record of 198 set in 2005 by Lock Haven’s Diana Strizki, Blickenstaff left little doubt and etched her name in the history books with the second of her six goals on the afternoon.
The Maryland native stands a top the record books with 204 career goals.
With her 23 points this week Blickenstaff needs only seven points to tie the LHU all-time mark, which is incredibly impressive, given this is only her third season with the Lady Eagles.
This mark the third time this season Blickenstaff has been named PSAC Player of the Week.
Blickenstaff and the rest of the Lady Eagles are back in action tomorrow at 4 p.m. when they play host to Bloomsburg in a PSAC Semifinal clash.
