#6 Lady Eagles fall in PSAC Championship
 

Junior Amber Hoch scored a team-high two goals today for LHU.

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The No. 6 Lock Haven University lacrosse team (15-4) lost to West Chester University (18-1) 17-8 today at WCU in the 2008 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship game.

The Lady Eagles took and early lead as Amber Hoch (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) scored the first goal of the contest with 23:27 left to play in the first half.

West Chester was quick to the tie the game up, but Hoch’s second goal of the game with just over 16 minutes to play in the opening half put LHU up 2-1.

Despite their early lead, the Lady Eagles found themselves trailing 10-5 at halftime, but came out soaring early in the second scoring the first two goals of the half cutting the Golden Ram lead to 10-8.

West Chester responded however, outscoring LHU 7-3 in the second half to secure the win.

Hoch was the Haven’s leader offensively with her two-goal outing, while six other Lady Eagles scored goals.

Junior Jessica Blickenstaff (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) the Haven’s all-time leading scorer had one goal and a team-high two assists on the day.

Sophomore goalie Kira Nuttall (Towson, Md./Loch Raven), who played almost every minute in net this year for LHU made 14 saves between the pipes.

LHU Haven closes out the season with a 15-4 overall record after going 12-2 in the conference.
