LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Several members of the Lock Haven University men’s and women’s track and field teams took to the track the past couple days looking for one last shot at a NCAA National Qualify mark.
The Bald and Lady Eagles competed Friday at Allegheny College’s Gator Invite and yesterday at the Penn State Open.
Leading the way Friday was Shala Simms (Ardmore, Pa./Upper Darby) who bettered her time in the 800 meter run from a week ago at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships. Simms was third with a NCAA qualifying time of 2:14:04.
Senior Jen Andrews (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) was second in the women’s shot put at the Gator Invite with a throw of 13.12 meters.
Leading the way for the Bald Eagles at Penn State was Chris Edelman (Elverson, Pa./Owen J. Roberts), who was second in the 400 meter dash with a time of 48.31.
