KENT, Ohio. – The Lock Haven University field hockey team (2-2) fell to Kent State University (3-1) 4-2 on the road this afternoon (Sunday, Sept. 7).

All the scoring came in the second half of play after Kent jumped out to a 2-0 lead.

The hosts struck first, scoring in the 40th minute of play.

Down 2-0 the Lady Eagles scored in the 47th minute of play as Alanna Lewis (Trinidad and Tobago/Southeast Port of Spain) found the back of the cage. Lewis’s goal came off an assist from Blair Wynne (Trinidad and Tobago/Sangre Grande).

Exactly three minutes later LHU tied the match at 2-2 after Wynne drilled one home. Her goal off a corner with Lewis and Suzann Hobart (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land) being credited with assists.

Less than three minutes later however Kent went up 3-2 and they tacked on a goal with no time left on the clock to take home the 4-2 win.

Erin Terreson (Robesonia, Pa./Conrad Weiser) made four saves on the day.

The Lady Eagles return to action on Friday, Sept. 12 at 4 p.m. when they play host to Cornell.
