LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University football team (0-3) lost to Shippensburg University (1-2) 36-0 tonight at Hubert Jack Stadium.
The win marked the first of the year for the Red Raiders.
The Bald Eagles trailed 19-0 at halftime, but defensively there were once again some bright spots for Lock Haven.
Shane Barie (Export, Pa./Franklin Regional) led the way for LHU with a team-high nine tackles. He made three solo stops and one tackle for a loss.
Aaron Pryor (Philadelphia/Roman Catholic) and Shawn Crebs (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) each made seven tackles.
Three other Bald Eagles had six tackles on the night.
Freshman Jarryd Burkett (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) got his second career start under center and was 12-for-28 passing with one interception. He passed for 53 yards.
Lock Haven returns to action next Saturday, Sept. 20 when the Bald Eagles travel to No. 13 Indiana (Pa.) University.
