LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (21-4, 7-0 PSAC East) cruised past Cheyney University tonight in Thomas Fieldhouse 3-0, as the Lady Eagles improved to a perfect 7-0 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action.
Lock Haven won easily 25-3, 25-6 and 25-3.
With the win LHU improves to 21-4 overall.
LHU led 5-2 in game one before scoring 13 straight to set the tone for tonight’s match.
Stacey Borgia (Factoryville, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) had a match-high eight kills as the senior hit .700 on the night.
Elizabeth Metzmaier (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township)and Haley Gribler (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy-Liberty) each had six kills.
Gribler had no hitting errors and hit a sensational .857.
A huge key for LHU was the serving of Juliana Nascimento (Guarulhos, Brazil/Seward C.C.), who racked up 11 aces.
Jena Meyer (Pittsburgh, Pa./Schenley) and Heidi Stine (Hershey, Pa./Lower Dauphin) each had three aces in the win.
The Lady Eagles return on action on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. when they travel to Kutztown University for PSAC action.
