SOMERSET, N.J. – Junior Suzann Hobart (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land) of the Lock Haven University field hockey team has been named Northeast Conference (NEC) Player of the Week after her huge game against Sacred Heart.
Hobart was the difference in yesterday’s 5-1 conference-win over Sacred Heart leading the Lady Eagles with nine points.
Hobart scored four goals and assisted on LHU’s other tally. She put LHU up 1-0 in the 30th minute on an unassisted tally.
Hobart assisted on The Haven’s second goal and would go on to score two more goals, making it 4-0 before Sacred Heart finally got on the board in the 66th minute.
Less than a minute after the hosts scored, Hobart added an insurance goal with less than four minutes to play to lift LHU to the 5-1 win.
LHU went 2-0 last week with both wins coming in conference play. With the two wins LHU extends its current unbeaten streak to four matches and stretches its NEC unbeaten streak to 19 contests, which dates back to the 2006 season.
This marks the fifth time this season a Lady Eagle has won NEC Player of the Week honors.
