LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University wrestling team is set to host the third annual Mat Town Open in Thomas Fieldhouse on Saturday, Nov. 29.
The Tournament:
The tournament kicks off Saturday, Nov. 29 in LHU’s Thomas Fieldhouse at 9 a.m. The tournament looks to be a very competitive one as some very talented grapplers will be making their way to Mat Town, U.S.A.

Probable Lineups:
LHU: 32 Bald Eagle wrestlers will don the crimson and white on Saturday with several making their season and career debuts.
Senior Matt Fittery (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) will be in action at 149 pounds and brings with him his team-leading 6-1 record. Fittery is coming off a 14-4 major decision victory over Rider’s Nick Weaver and will look to continue his recent success. Fittery took home the title in his last tournament appearance, winning the 149-lbs. class at the Buffalo Open. His only loss came in the Missouri dual.
Redshirt sophomore Nick Hyatt (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown) will look to regain his strong early season form after falling in the Rider dual. Hyatt is 5-3 on the year and has been solid for LHU at 125.
Senior Ben Hepburn (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock), a returning national qualifier at 197 will be in action looking to improve on a 1-1 record thus far this season. Hepburn picked up a big win in the Rider dual, downing Tyler Smith 10-3. Fellow classmate Tom Kocher (Lancaster, Pa./Manhiem Township) is 4-2 on the year will be looking to continue his hot streak on the home mats this weekend.

Back in action
LHU is back in action on Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships. The PSAC Championships will be hosted by Mercyhurst University with the action starting at 9 a.m. MU is in its first full year as full-time member of the PSAC. All 16 of the PSAC’s full-time members are harbored with the Commonwealth of Pa., making it the largest one-state conference in the nation.
