LEXINGTON, Ky. – Stacey Borgia (Factoryville, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) of the Lock Haven University volleyball team has earned All-American status after a sensational senior season on the court.
Borgia earned American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) NCAA Division II honorable mention All-American status after her efforts in leading the Lady Eagles all season long.
Borgia, the 2008 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Player of the Year, was a five-time PSAC East Player of the Week during the regular season.
Along with AVCA All- Atlantic Region honors, Borgia was also awarded 2008 Daktronics NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Volleyball First Team honors.
Borgia led Lock Haven in kills with 402, while hitting a sensational .479.
Her .479 hitting percentage is currently the best mark in all of Division II.
Borgia also led the team in digs and blocks with 147 and 87, respectively. She had 10 or more kills in 26 of 35 matches this year.
Borgia was a major component in LHU’s success this season. The Haven finished the 2008 season 29-6 overall and won the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East regular season title after going 12-0 in division play. The Haven was PSAC finalists and Atlantic Region semifinalists.
Led by Borgia the Lady Eagles led Division II in total team hitting percentage.
