BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Despite a late rally the Lock Haven University women’s basketball team (1-4) was edged on the road tonight 67-63 at local rival Bloomsburg University (4-2).
Junior guard Casi Donelan (Fairfax, Va./Goldey-Beacom) led the way tonight for the Lady Eagles. She knocked down 16 points, while also grabbing a team-high nine rebounds.
Rookie Sharay Hall (Philadelphia/Carver) had a huge night for the crimson and white as she dropped a team-high 18 points, while pacing The Haven’s scoring touch.
Lauren Kelshaw (Weatherly, Pa./Weatherly) was solid with seven rebounds and six points.
Milika Miller (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) chipped in with seven points.
Both teams were tied at 23 going into the lockers at halftime.
With 14:24 left in the game Lock Haven held its biggest advantage up four points, but Bloom went on a run and led by 12 with less than seven minutes to play.
LHU head coach Jennifer Smith’s team continued to battle down the stretch, but ran out of time on the road at the Lady Eagles were edged by four points.
The Lady Eagles are back in action tomorrow night (Saturday, Dec. 6) at 6 p.m. on the road at Columbia Union.
