LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women’s basketball team (3-6) was defeated tonight 76-58 by the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown (4-5) in non-conference action in LHU’s Thomas Fieldhouse.
Despite the loss, the Lady Eagles had a solid showing on the hardwood.
Lauren Kelshaw (Weatherly, Pa./Weatherly) led the way with a game-high 17 points. She also snagged six boards and dished out five assists. Nine of her 17 points were knocked down beyond the arc.
Katie Kendall (Bethel Park, Pa./ Bethel Park) hit three of 10 from three-point range to add nine points. Peaches Nesmith (Philadelphia/Northeast) scored six points and added eight rebounds in the loss.
Sharay Hall (Philadelphia/Carver) grabbed a game-high nine rebounds and Casi Donelan (Fairfax,Va./Goldey-Beacom College) snagged seven boards and four steals to transition the offense for the Lady Eagles.
Guard Malika Miller (Scranton, Pa/Scranton) also had eight points in the contest.
Pitt-Johnstown was led by a 17-point outing from Sheena Aden. Monae Baker and Lindsay Cale had 16 and 15 points, respectively for the Lady Cats.
The Lady Eagles return to action after the new-year at home in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Crossover action against Bloomsburg on Saturday, Jan. 3 at 1:00 p.m.
