LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women’s lacrosse team has earned a No. 5 preseason ranking by Lacrosse Magazine and will once again enter the fresh season tabbed as one of the nation’s premier NCAA Division II lacrosse programs.
The Lady Eagles are coming off a fantastic 2008 season, where they picked up a 16-4 overall record and went 12-2 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play. LHU was PSAC finalists.
Three members of the 2008 team were named Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Americans including returners Leigh Titus(Towaco, N.J./Montville) and Katie Zichelli (South Orange, N.J./Columbia).
The team begins its 2009 season when it travels to Spartanburg, S.C. to take on Converse College, March 4 at 4 p.m.
