EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Despite a tremendous effort late, the Lock Haven University women’s basketball team (3-9) lost on the road at East Stroudsburg (7-5) 77-70 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action.
Leading the way was junior Casi Donelan (Fairfax, Va./Goldey-Beacom College), who pulled in a double-double. Donelan turned in a sensational performance all over the court, scoring 17 points, while also grabbing a team-high 10 rebounds. She also dished out five assists.
Senior Lauren Kelshaw (Weatherly, Pa./Weatherly) led The Haven in scoring with a team-high 24 points.
Sophomore Katie Kendall (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) was LHU’s third player in double figures as she knocked down 15 points, including a trio of three-pointers.
Lock Haven trailed ESU 34-17 at halftime and East Stroudsburg led by as many as 20 in the second half.
Despite trailing by double-digits, much of the second half, LHU put forth a solid run late and the Lady Eagles were only down 11 with less than three minutes to play.
With just 25 seconds left in regulation LHU had cut the ESU-lead to four, but the clock would run out on Lock Haven’s fantastic effort late.
LHU hits the hardwood again tomorrow at Kutztown. The Lady Eagles take on KU at 1 p.m.
