EDINBORO, Pa. – The Lock Haven University wrestling team (5-7-1, 0-2 EWL) lost to No. 16 Edinboro University (9-4, 2-0 EWL) 34-6 on the road tonight in Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) action.
The Bald Eagles picked up two wins including an upset at 149 pounds as No. 25 Matt Fittery (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) downed No. 19 Torsten Gillespie 9-5.
With the win, Fittery improves to 24-5 on the year.
Freshman Aaron Ernest (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove) picked up The Haven’s other win, downing Chris Hrunka 7-6 at 165.

The lone scoring in the second period was a Gillespie escape. However, the sophomore’s comeback hopes were dashed when Fittery recorded a reversal twenty seconds into the third session. He would finish with an escape and takedown, with Fittery owning over two minutes in riding time.
Ernest led 4-1 after one period in his match, thanks to a pair of takedowns. Hrunka then opened the second period with an escape and takedown to tie the match at 4-4. Ernest answered with a reversal for a 6-4 lead after two periods.
