Last second heroics lift Bald Eagles in big win at home
 

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Last second heroics propelled the Lock Haven University men’s basketball team (3-14, 1-3 PSAC West) over Mercyhurst College (13-4, 1-3 PSAC West) 70-67 inside Thomas Fieldhouse this afternoon in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western division thriller.

Warren Christian (Baltimore, Md/ Catonsville C.C.) hit a long-range, desperation three-pointer as time expired in regulation to secure the win for the Bald Eagles.

The game-winning shot gave Christian a total of 13 points in the contest.

Lock Haven fought back from an early 17 point deficit to secure their first win in division play this season.

The Bald Eagles were led by senior Billy Arre ( Pittsburgh, Pa./Thomas Jefferson), who scored a game-high 20 points.

Guard Kelvin McClean (Newport, Va./Heritage) had another solid showing by closing in on a double-double this afternoon. He had nine points and nine boards in the win. McClean also dished out six assists with his unselfish play in the contest.

Andres Carpio (Beacon, NY./Beacon) played well coming off the bench for Lock Haven. He scored 10 points and dished out two assists for the Bald Eagles.

Hometown product Eli Hanna (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) hit three of four from the field to add seven points in the victory.

Mercyhurst had four players in double figures in the contest.

The Lakers were led by Jordan Armstrong and his team-high 18 points.

The Bald Eagles return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 28 when they host Slippery Rock University at 8 p.m. in a PSAC Western division matchup.
