Lady Eagles turn in solid swims, go 2-1 at California: *Updated Sunday, Jan. 25 with Full Results*
 

CALIFORNIA, Pa. – The Lock Haven University swim team (4-4, 4-4 PSAC) saw strong success this weekend at the Vulcan Dual Meet Challenge hosted by the California (Pa.) University.

The Lady Eagles were victorious in their first meet against Mansfield University 100-27 on Friday evening.

Lock Haven began the meet by winning the 200 yard freestyle relay and continued to dominate Mansfield by winning all seven of the events.

The team’s best showing of the day was a first, second and third place sweep at the finish of the 100 yard Breaststroke.

They also took first and second place in the 200 yard freestyle.

Lock Haven continued to be victorious on day two of the competition by defeating Slippery Rock 86-42 this morning.

In the first matchup of day two, the Lady Eagles were solid at Hamer Hall by starting off the event once again by winning a relay, this time the 200 yard medley relay. Lock Haven went on to win 6 out of the 7 events.

Lock Haven had a first and second place finish in the 400 yard individual medley. The Lady Eagles capped off the meet with a victory in the 800 yard freestyle relay.

The Lady Eagles ended the day with a loss to host California 102-45.

Sophomore Amanda Terray (Coaldale, Pa./Panther Valley) had strong showing for the Lady Eagles by winning four events at the meet. She also set the pool record in the 200 yard backstroke at 2:10.52.

Amanada Palmer (Exton, Pa./Dowingtown East) and Kasey Campbell (Freasterville, Pa. /Neshaminy) also secured victories in the meet for Lock Haven. Palmer took first place in the 200 individual medley and Campbell in the 1,000 freestyle.

The Lady Eagles return to action of February 7 at 2 p.m. when they travel to Edinboro to compete in the Fighting Scot Invite.
