LHU Basketball - Women

Four players scored in double figures, but Lady Eagles fall to The Rock
 

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women’s basketball team (3-15, 0-5 PSAC West) fell to Slippery Rock University (7-11, 2-3 PSAC West) 79-69 at home tonight in Thomas Fieldhouse in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action.

The Lady Eagles fell to The Rock despite a tremendous second half rally.

Four different players scored in double figures for The Haven.

Leading the way was Casi Donelan (Fairfax, Va./Goldey-Beacom), who scored a game-high 24 points. She also grabbed a team-high six rebounds. Donelan’s all-around play didn’t stop there as the junior also dished out three assists and recorded four steals.

Rookie Sharay Hall (Philadelphia/Carver) netted 17 points to go along with six boards as she helped pace LHU’s comeback.

Katie Kendall (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) and Lauren Kelshaw (Weatherly, Pa./Weatherly) both had the scoring touch for LHU with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Kelshaw also pulled down five rebounds.

Lock Haven trailed by 19 at the break as SRU led 52-43.

The Rock led by as many as 26 with 14:40 to play in the game, but the Lady Eagles rallied to cut the lead

Lock Haven had cut The Rock lead to just eight with less than 10:00 to play in regulation.

With just 2:40 to play LHU had cut the lead to only six, but the Lady Eagles couldn’t get any closer.

The Lady Eagles return to action on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 1 p.m. when they travel to Gannon University for PSAC West action.
