LHU Basketball - Women

Women’s Basketball drops home game to Edinboro 69-59
 

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women’s basketball team (3-18, 0-8 PSAC West) lost to visiting Edinboro University (12-9, 3-5 PSAC West) 69-59 today in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division action.

The Lady Eagles trailed by 12 at the break, down 39-27 at halftime, but cut the Edinboro lead late in the second to just four points.

The Fighting Scots would however pull away late to take home the win in Thomas Fieldhouse.

Leading the way for the Lady Eagles was sophomore Katie Kendall (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park), who scored all of her 18 points from three-point range. She was 6-for-8 from downtown as she netted her team-high 18 points.

Kendall also grabbed four boards.

Junior Malika Miller (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) had a strong outing for LHU with 10 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Senior Lauren Kelshaw (Weatherly, Pa./Weatherly) and freshman Heather McHugh (Norristown, Pa./Norristown) each knocked down nine points in the loss.

Edinboro was led by two players in double figures including Kelsey Conklin’s game-high 22 points.

The Lady Eagles return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 6 p.m. when they play host to IUP in conference action at Thomas Fieldhouse.
