WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (2-8) dropped both games of a doubleheader to No. 16 Saint Joseph’s College of Indiana today in Winter Haven, Fla.
The Bald Eagles fell 11-0 and 9-5.
Lock Haven picked up four hits in game one today and The Haven was led by Mark Strouse (Milford, Pa./Delaware), who went 2-for-3 at the plate. He had a pair of singles.
Jordan Yohn (Three Springs, Pa./Southern Huntingdon) got the start on the mound and went five innings. He struck out three.
Jeremy Lombardo (Dickson, Tenn./Pennridge) worked the last two innings and struck out two.
LHU dropped game two of the doubleheader 9-5.
Strouse was again The Haven’s big bat as he went 2-for-4.
Trailing 9-3 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, the Bald Eagles looked to spark the rally, but they could only muster up two runs.
Scott Gaston (Bergenfield, N.J./Bergenfield) looked to spark that rally with a RBI-double.
Tyler Rumsey (Mansfield, Pa./Mansfield) had a very solid outing on the mound.
Rumsey finished with seven strikeouts in six innings of work.
The Bald Eagles are back in action Tuesday, March 3 when they take on Gannon University as part the Central Florida Invitational in Winter Haven, Fla.
