Bald Eagles drop two at Slippery Rock in PSAC West doubleheader
 

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (11-19, 5-5 PSAC West) dropped both games of a doubleheader today at Slippery Rock University (25-9, 11-5 PSAC West) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division action.

Lock Haven dropped game one 5-3 (8 innings) and fell to The Rock bats 13-2, in game two.

In game one LHU’s three runs came off five hits.

Zach Schuler (Mt. Wolf, Pa./Spring Grove) recorded three of LHU’s five hits, as he went 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs and one home run.

Tyler Rumsey (Mansfield, Pa./Mansfield H.S.) went the distance on the mound and struck out three, while walking three. He gave up just five hits.

Lock Haven took a 2-0 lead in the top of the third, but SRU was quick to tie it, getting the two runs right back in the bottom of the third.

Trailing 3-2, Lock Haven tied the ballgame in top of sixth.

The Rock took home the win in the bottom of the eighth.

The Rock bats were hot in game two, as SRU took down Lock Haven 13-2.

LHU’s two runs came off four hits and The Rock picked up its 13 runs on 12 hits.

Matt Palko (Freeland, Pa./Hazleton Area) was Lock Haven’s big bat in game two with a 2-for-4 outing. He also had one RBI.

Lock Haven returns to action on Tuesday, April 7 at 1 p.m. when the Bald Eagles travel to East Stroudsburg.
