EAST STROUDSURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (11-25) dropped both games of a doubleheader at East Stroudsburg University (24-17) today.
The Bald Eagles lost 16-1 and 15-2.
In game one, ESU’s 16 runs came off 17 hits.
Host-ESU led 1-0 after one and scored five runs in the second to pave the way for the big win.
Scott Gaston (Bergenfield, N.J./Bergen Catholic) and Jordan Yohn (Three Springs, Pa./Southern Huntingdon) accounted for Lock Haven’s hits in game one.
Four different Bald Eagles saw action on the mound for LHU.
Jeremy Lombardo (Dickson, Tenn./Pennridge) got the start and took the loss, but struck out two.
The Warriors took game two 15-2, with their 15 runs coming off 17 hits.
Lock Haven’s two runs came off six hits.
Ted Stake (Lewistown, Pa./Indian Valley) went 2-for-3 and Ryan Griffin (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton Are) also chipped in with a pair of hits, after a 2-for-3 game-two at the plate.
Once again LHU used four pitchers.
Jeremie Cook (Venice, Fla./Venice) got the start and struck out three. Tyler Golden (Tyrone, Pa./Tyrone) took the loss for the Bald Eagles.
Lock Haven returns to action on Friday, April 10 when they play host to Clarion University in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division action. LHU is 5-7 in Western Division action this season.
