Johnson named PSAC West Lax Player of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Freshman Kayleigh Johnson (Fairport, N.Y./Faiport) of the No. 5 Lock Haven University lacrosse team has been named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division Player of the Week for her recent efforts in leading the Lady Eagles.

Last week The Haven went 2-0 and Johnson was a huge reason why, as she led the team with 14 points.

It also marks the second consecutive week, where a Lady Eagle has taken home PSAC West Player of the Week honors. Junior Leigh Titus (Towaco, N.J./Montville) won the award a week ago.

Johnson led LHU to an important 2-0 week, where the Lady Eagles downed IUP and Bloomsburg on the road.

With a 20-14 win over IUP, LHU improved to 5-1 in PSAC West Play. Johnson led the Lady Eagles with a six-goal effort.

In the 19-11 win over Bloomsburg, Johnson led LHU with a eight points. She scored six goals and assisted two others.

Johnson and the Lady Eagles return to action on Thursday, April 16 at 4 p.m. when they travel to No. 3 Mercyhurst College for a critical PSAC West and NCAA Division II lacrosse battle.
