LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (15-27) split a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Crossover doubleheader this afternoon against Millersville University (21-18) at Foundation Field.

The Bald Eagles dropped game one, 3-1, but responded in game two with an 8-5 win to earn an important split.

LHU scattered four hits and picked up its lone run in the bottom of the fourth inning, when Mark Strouse (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) tripled and then scored off a RBI single from Matt McCamley (Philipsburg, Pa./Philipsburg-Osceola).

McCamley finished game one with a solid performance at the plate going 2-for-3.

Stephen Brush (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) also saw action in relief on the mound pitching the final 1.1 innings, while giving up one hit and walking two.

In game two, Lock Haven would explode for seven runs in the bottom of the fifth as the Bald Eagles batted around in the order and had seven consecutive batters reach base in the inning on their way to the 8-5 victory.

Six Bald Eagle players had hits in the win, including McCamley who once again had multiple hits, going 3-for-4, while driving in three runs.

Jordan Yohn (Three Springs, Pa./South Huntingdon) also had two hits and recorded a RBI in the win.

Jeremy Lombardo (Dickson, Tenn./Pennridge) had a good start for The Haven, pitching six innings and surrendering five runs on seven hits . Lombardo also walked six and struck out two and picked up the win to improve to 2-1 on the season.

Dan Knapp (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) had a solid role in his one inning of action in the top of the seventh to ensure the three run victory for LHU.

The Bald Eagles return to action on Friday, April 17 when they travel to California (Pa.) University for a PSAC Western Division doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
