LHU Soccer - Women

Women’s Soccer lending helping hand during ’09 season by raising money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – During the 2009 season the Lock Haven University women’s soccer team is doing all they can to help fight childhood cancer by raising money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand.

Every year over 200,000 children worldwide are diagnosed with a form of childhood cancer. The Lady Eagles can’t ignore this shocking statistic impacting the youth of our country, and we certainly hope that you won’t either.

The Lady Eagles are doing their part, but they need your help.

On Saturday, September 12, The Haven women are dedicating their soccer game to Alex’s Lemonade Stand to fight childhood cancer.

Over the next few days and weeks the Lady Eagles will be preparing for this event by selling t-shirts, lemonade and accepting donations.

The money raised will go to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer, a public charity that funds childhood cancer research projects. The mission of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is to raise funds and awareness of childhood cancer causes, primarily to support research into new cures and treatments; to encourage and educate others, especially children, to raise money for childhood cancer by holding their own lemonade stands; and to expedite the process of finding new cures and bringing them to children with cancer now.

Come support the women's soccer team on Saturday, Sept. 12 as the Lady Eagles battle Gannon University.

The team will be wearing yellow that day to raise awareness for the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.

Please wear your limited edition, yellow ALSF T-Shirt to the game to show your support.

Donations are also being accepted.

Please contact assistant coach Kim Fish (kfish@lhup.edu) to make a donation or with any questions.

The Lady Eagles thanks you for your support.
