LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women’s basketball team has announced its 2009 recruiting class.
Lock Haven head coach Jen Smith announced that three players will make up her class of 2013.
The three players joining the Lady Eagles are Amy Bievenour (York, Pa./West York), Kacie Hershey (Cochranville, Pa./Octorara) and Jamie Donovan (Pipersville, Pa./Central Bucks East).
Smith is very excited about the potential of this class.
“I am very excited about our 2009 recruiting class,” Smith said. “All four student-athletes have had much success in the classroom and on the court.”
“I feel all four of them will make an immediate and positive impact to our program.”
Breaking down the Lady Eagles:
Amy Bievenour (West York Area High School) 5’10” Guard
Athletic Awards:
-2004-2005: East Pennsboro All Star Team during the East Pennsboro High School Tournament.
-2005: Received Defensive Player of the Year for the West York Area High School Basketball Season.
-2007-2008: Received Most Improved Player for the West York Area High School Basketball Season.
2009: Received Most Valuable Player for the County Championship game for York County.
Team Awards:
-2007-2008: West York became were division champions for the first time in school history.
-2008-2009: West York won the division again and also captured the overall County Championship for the first time in school history. The team also advanced to the first round of states for the first time.
Jaime Donovan (Central Bucks East in District 1 in the Suburban One Colonial Conference) 5’7” Point Guard

Athletic Awards:
-Sophomore Year: Jaime was chosen for the Second Team All Suburban One Colonial Conference. She was also selected for the All Area Sophomore Team by the Bucks County Newspaper for the All Area Team Selection.
-Senior Year: Jaime was chosen again by the Bucks County Newspaper for the All Area Senior Team. She made the First Team for the All Suburban One Colonial Conference and was the leading scorer for her team averaging 13 points. She also made the All Intelligencer Team, which is a team made up of athletes from Bucks County and Montgomery County schools selected by the Daily Intelligencer Sports Writers. Jaime was Captain her Senior Year, was a four year varsity player and was a starter for three years.
Team Awards:
-Her team advanced to the State Tournament Freshman, sophomore and Senior Year.
-Central Buck East Girls were the Colonial Conference Champs her freshman, Junior and Senior Year.
Kacie Hershey (Octorara High School in the Chesmont League). 6’0” Forward
-Sophomore Year: Kacie was selected honorable mention for the Chesmont League.
-Junior Year: Was selected for the Second Team by the Chesmont League. She was chosen Most Valuable Player for her team in the Unionvilles Christmas Tournament.
-Senior Year: Was selected for the First Team in the Chesmont League and was Most Valuable Player for her team.
-Kacie was a Captain for her Junior and Senior Year.
