Field Hockey tops La Salle 4-2

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Senior Mary Keister (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg) and junior Amy Hordendorf (Topton, Pa./Brandywine Heights) each scored two goals to help the Lock Haven University field hockey team (5-3) past La Salle (3-6) 4-2 today on The Haven’s Charlotte E. Smith Field.

Hordendorf scored 25:31 into the game and just over two minutes later, Keister scored the first of her two goals to make it 2-0.

The Lady Eagles led 2-0 at halftime and tacked on two more goals in the second 35 minutes of play.

Keister made it 3-0 in the 53rd minute.

Back-to-back goals from La Salle’s Rebecca Chylack made it 3-2, but Hordendorf added an insurance-goal for The Haven with less than six minutes to play.

Lock Haven got a solid defensive effort today from several players including Alanna Lewis (Trinidad & Tobago/Southeast Port-of-Spain).

Lock Haven outshot La Salle 15-3 and held a 4-3 advantage in penalty corners. Both of the Explorers goals came off penalty corners.

The Lady Eagles are back in action on Saturday, September 26 at 11 a.m. when they host Temple in non-conference action.
