Gribler named PSAC East Player of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Sophomore Haley Gribler (Powell, Ohio/Olentagny-Liberty) of the Lock Haven University volleyball team has been named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Player of the Week, marking the fifth straight week a Lady Eagle has taken home the honor.

Gribler had a huge week in leading The Haven to a perfect 2-0 week with both wins coming against PSAC opponents.

Thanks to the standout play from Gribler, LHU extended its most recent win streak to six matches and hasn’t dropped a single set during the span.

Gribler was a huge reason behind the success, as she recorded a team-high 23 kills (3.8/game & 11.5/match), while hitting a very solid .327 over the two games.

In the 3-0 win over Shippensburg, Gribler knocked down 14 kills and she followed that up by hitting a sizzling .421 in the win over Millersville. Against Millersville, Gribler added 9 kills.

Over the two-game span, she also tallied 26 digs, three aces, two block assists and just seven hitting errors.

Xuan Gao (Dong Ying, Chinda/Zibo No. 10 Middle School) had earned the last four PSAC East Player of the Week honors.

The Lady Eagles return to action next weekend in PSAC Crossover action, hosted by Shippensburg. Lock Haven will be in action on Friday and Saturday (Oct. 10-11).
