EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University swim team (3-2) dropped a dual-meet tonight at East Stroudsburg University 132-130, as the thrilling Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) meet came down to the final two events.
The Lady Eagles took home seven first place finishes in 14 total events, including a win the in then night’s opening race. LHU started the meet strong with 11 points after a win the 200 medley relay.
Individually Amanda Terray (Coaldale, Pa./Panther Valley), Kasey Campbell (Feasterville, Pa./Neshaminy) and Brittany Rehrig (Wilmington, Del./Charter School of Wilmington) were all individual double-winners for LHU.
Terray took home wins in both of her specialty events, as she dominated the field in the 100 and 200 backstroke. She won the 100 backstroke in a time of 59.37 and took home the win in the 200 with a time of 2:15.28.
Terray’s time of 59.37 in the 100 backstroke was good enough for a NCAA Division II “B” cut time.
Terray’s best performance may have come in the very first race of the night. Terray led off The Haven’s winning 200 medley relay team with a tremendous effort in the 50 backstroke.
Her time of 28.11 broke the ESU pool record, held ironically by former Lock Haven star Joy Sundberg.
Campbell continued her solid string of early season performances and won the 500 and 1,000 freestyle events. She won the 500 in a time of 5:31.94 and took home first place in the 1,000 with a mark of 11:26.08.
Rehrig was solid again for The Haven in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events, taking home wins in both. She won the 100 in a time of 1:08.03 and took first in the 200 with a mark of 2:31.69.
