LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Senior goalkeeper Emily Wagner (Brick, N.J./Brick Township) of the Lock Haven University women’s soccer team has been named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Player of the Week for her recent efforts in leading the Lady Eagles to a 2-0 week.
Wagner made 15 saves over the two-game span in 1-0 shutouts of both Clarion University and Shippensburg University.
Most recently in a 1-0 double overtime win over SHIP on the road Wagner turned away eight Lady Raiders shots on her way to her fourth shutout on the season.
In the important PSAC West win over Clarion on the road Wagner made seven saves in helping the Lady Eagles to the victory.
Of those seven saves it was her third in the just the eighth minute of play that etched her name in the Lady Eagles record books.
Needing only two saves to tie the all-time record, Wagner’s third save helped her surpass Jen Foster’s (1995-99) mark of 294.
She now sits atop the all-time list with 307 saves and counting.
Wagner and her Lady Eagle teammates are back in action in an important PSAC West match up on the road at California (Pa.) University on Wednesday, Oct. 10 with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
