CHEYNEY, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women’s basketball team (5-9) fell on the road today at Cheyney University 76-69 in the final Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover game of the season for the Lady Eagles.
Sophomore Kristin Kudrick (Harrison City, Pa./Penn Trafford) was a bright spot for LHU despite the loss, as the she nearly tallied the double-double. She recorded team-highs in points and rebounds with 15 and 8, respectively. She also had a game-high four steals.
The Lady Eagles were down 47-34 at the break, but couldn’t gain solid ground on and close in on Cheyney during the second half of play.
Senior Michelle Mitchell (Scranton, Pa./Lackawanna C.C.) helped pace the Haven with a 14-point afternoon. She also pulled in seven rebounds.
Junior Lauren Kelshaw (Weatherly, Pa./Weatherly) dropped 13 points to go along with six rebounds while Malika Miller (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) added 11 points and five rebounds.
The Lady Eagles are back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 6 p.m. when they travel to Shippensburg University for their PSAC West opener.
