LHU Basketball - Women

Lady Eagles drop PSAC West opener
 

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women’s basketball team (5-10, 0-1 PSAC West) lost 69-55 on the road tonight at Shippensburg University (13-3, 1-0 PSAC West) in the Lady Eagles Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West opener.

Junior guard Lauren Kelshaw (Weatherly, Pa./Weatherly) did more than her part leading the Haven in scoring with a 17-point effort. She also grabbed five rebounds.

Sophomore Kristin Kudrick (Harrison City, Pa./Penn Trafford) had a solid night for LHU dropping 11 points to go along with five boards.

Rookie Aiesha Smith (Philadelphia/Paul Robeson) scored nine points while senior Michelle Mitchell (Scranton, Pa./Lackawanna C.C.) added seven. Mitchell also had a team-high nine rebounds turning in a solid effort for the crimson and white.

Sophomore Malika Miller (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) pulled in seven rebounds for LHU while leading the team with six steals in the contest.

The Lady Eagles are back in action this Saturday, Jan. 19 when they return home to play host to Slippery Rock University at 1 p.m. in PSAC West action.
