Arre gets nod for PSAC West Player of the Week
 

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – For the second time in three weeks, Lock Haven University (1-15, 1-1 PSAC West)junior sensation Billy Arre (Pittsburgh/Thomas Jefferson) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Division Player of the Week.

Arre got the nod due to his efforts in LHU’s first victory of the season on the road at Shippensburg University and most recently their defeat at the hands of Slippery Rock University.

Against the Red Raiders, Billy had a monster double-double as he knocked in 28 points and grabbed 15 boards in The Haven’s 81-78 overtime victory at Heiges Field House. The victory for LHU was their first since January 2002 at Ship.

Most recently against Slippery Rock, Arre again scored 28 points, including six treys, as the Bald Eagles fell in defeat the hands of The Rock 60-56.

The Pittsburgh native was also named to the preseason All-PSAC team.

Arre and the Bald Eagles are next back in action as they play part in another PSAC West division men’s/women’s doubleheader at Clarion University on Wednesday, January 23 2008. Tip off from Tippin Gymnasium is slated for 8 p.m.
