Lady Eagles set to take part in Think Pink Day

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Lock Haven University women’s basketball team is set to do their part in raising breast cancer awareness by participating in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Think Pink Day on Wednesday, Feb. 13 when they play host to Shippensburg University in Thomas Fieldhouse.

The WBCA’s Think Pink Day is part of their initiative to raise awareness for breast cancer. LHU is one of 900 participants taking part in 2008 Think Pink, which officially beings today (Feb. 8).

On Wednesday night the Lady Eagles will be sporting pink warm-ups and fans are encouraged to wear pink as well, in support of the Lady Eagles awareness efforts.

The women’s team will also be selling pink Lady Eagle t-shirts at the game as a fundraiser for breast cancer research.

All fans that purchase a pink tee will automatically be entered into a drawing to win a pink iPod shuffle.

LHU’s Think Pink night will also include free breast cancer awareness pink ribbons, a Honor Wall (fans can add the names of individuals who have been affected by breast cancer), breast cancer awareness facts distributed in stands, pink roster sheets/program inserts, pink floor towels, Hip Hop Dance Club halftime performers wearing pink and events staff in pink among others

The WBCA's Think Pink initiative is a global, unified effort for the WBCA nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond.

Tipoff for Wednesday’s night Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) clash with Shippensburg is set for 6 p.m.
