LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Senior distance sensation Ryan Blood (Summerdale, Pa./East Pennsboro) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Men’s track athlete of the week for his performance at Stanford Invitational over the weekend.
Blood, son of former LHU running legend Rick Blood, competed in the 10,000 meter run at the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, California on Saturday as he finished with a time of 29:45.09 which just missed an automatic qualifying time for the NCAA championships in the event.
Blood’s hot time was enough to give him a provisional qualifying time as he crushed the mark needed for that qualifying standard by over two minutes.
While running a provisional qualifying time, Blood’s mark is also the best so far in the PSAC and is currently the fastest time in Division II in the 10,000.
Blood and the rest of the LHU track and field squad are back in action this coming weekend as they travel to Bucknell to compete in the Bucknell Open and Distance Carnival on Friday and Saturday.
