Williams and Lopez Earn All-PSAC Honors for Lady Eagles

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Senior Ginger Williams (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) and sophomore Ilia Lopez (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg) of the Lock Haven University women’s basketball team (12-15, 5-7 PSAC West) were both selected to All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) teams announced by the conference office today.

Williams caps off an impressive career with an All-PSAC First Team Selection, the first of her career. She was a second team selection in 2006. The Maryland native led the Haven in rebounds averaging 9.2 per game, which is fourth-best in the conference.

She also netted 11.1 points per game, shooting 39 percent from the field on the year while scoring in double-figures 14 times. Williams led the Haven in rebounds during 18 of 27 games and recorded nine double-doubles.

She had a monstrous double-double against Edinboro University on January 27, scoring a season-high 29 points to go along with a season-high 20 rebounds.

Lopez averaged 12.9 points per game to lead the Lady Eagles in scoring. Her 12.9 points per game ranks 14th in the league and she led the Haven in scoring during 12 games, netting double-figures in 18 of 27 contests.

She scored a season-high 24 points twice as the sophomore guard shot an impressive 77 percent from the free-throw line during the year.

This was Lopez’s first All-PSAC honor.
