Barney

Danielle
Barney is
serving in
her 10th
season at
Lock Haven
University
and her
sixth as
Assistant
Director/Senior
Woman
Administrator
for the LHU
Department
of
Athletics.
Her main
responsibilities
include
coordinating
game day
promotions
and
assisting in
event
management
for all home
contests, as
well as
coordinating
the NCAA
CHAMPS/Life
Skills
program and
CHAMPS
Challenge at
LHU, and
researching
and
directing
promotional
events for
the
department
of
athletics,
including
webcasting
of sporting
events.
Barney
currently
serves as
the NCAA
Division II
Atlantic
Region
representative
and is a
Division II
cross
country/track
and field
championships
committee
member. She
is also the
Regional
Chair of the
Daktronics
Volleyball
Awards
Committee
and serves
as the
Administrator
Liaison for
the PSAC
Men’s and
Women’s
Cross
Country,
Indoor and
Outdoor
Track and
Field.
Prior to
being hired
to her post
in the
athletic
department,
Barney
worked at
Lock Haven
as the
university’s
Director of
Sports
Information.
As LHU SID,
from
1999-2004,
she directed
media
relations
for the
university’s
varsity
sports
programs, as
well as
maintaining
the
athletics
website, and
serving as
the sports
information
contact for
several
national
tournaments.
Barney is a
1997
graduate of
Elmira
College,
earning
Bachelor of
Arts degrees
in History
and
Spanish.
She received
her Master
of Arts in
Communication
Studies in
2001 from
Edinboro
University.
Barney is
also
currently a
Candidate
for a
Doctorate in
Higher
Education
from the
Pennsylvania
State
University.
