(Lock Haven, Pa.) – Riding an 11-goal first-half effort, the Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania lacrosse team (1-3, 1-2 PSAC) picked up its first season win against Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) foe Indiana University of Pennsylvania (1-5, 0-3 PSAC), 16-6, at Charlotte Smith Field this afternoon.
            The Haven opened the game up with a quick goal in the first minute by Diana Strizki (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central), setting up the momentum for the rest of the game.  The Lady Eagle offense was in control for the majority of the contest, totaling 32 shots to Indiana ’s 19 attempts.  There were ten Lady Eagles registering goals in the win paced by freshman Jenna Richter ( Long Valley , N.J./West Morris Central) who netted a game-high four goals along with two assists.  Adding to the offensive attack were Mandy Alderfer ( Harleysville , Pa. /Souderton) who tallied three goals, Shannon Houck (Gilbertsville/Boyertown) with two goals, and Strizki who had one goal and three assists.  
            Amy Hood led Indiana with one goal and one assist.  Also scoring goals for the Indians were Jaclyn Rutkowski, Cara Hoffman, Mallory Zelawski, Kristin Slemmer, and Amy Pincock. 
            In goal, Christie Dunning (Ivyland/Central Bucks East) and Laura Carr (Warminster/Archbishop Wood) both tallied threes saves in the win.  Indiana ’s Lauren Lee tallied nine saves.
            The Lock Haven University lacrosse team will next host Mercyhurst College on Mon., March 29, at 7 p.m.
