A
goal by Amy Richter
(Long Valley,
N.J./West Morris Central) gave the Lock Haven
University lacrosse team (3-3, 2-2 PSAC) a one goal lead
over East Stroudsburg University (2-5, 0-3 PSAC) at the
half, 5-4, but the Lady Eagles kicked into gear in the
second half to put up 10 goals and pull away for the 15-7
conference win.
The Haven burst out to an 8-4 lead after the first
seven minutes of the second half but the Warriors
responded with two of their own to climb closer, 8-6. That
would be as close as they would get, however, and the Lady
Eagles netted five unanswered goals in the final nine
minutes to safely tuck away the win.
Amy Richter
along with Diana
Strizki (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central) and Jenna Richter (
Long
Valley
, N.J./West Morris Central)
each posted three goals in the win. Jenna Richter had a team high of four assists while Strizki
added three assists and Amy
Richter tallied one. Three other players registered a
pair of goals in the win, Jean Kearney (Springfield/Springfield), Shannon Houck (Gilbertsville/Boyertown) and Mandy Alderfer (
Harleysville
,
Pa.
/Souderton).
Goalkeeper Laura
Carr (Warminster/Archbishop Wood) had seven saves in
the win.
East Stroudsburg
was led by a
six-goal effort from Corinne Stephens. Warrior goalie Kate
Malec had 12 saves.
