(Lock Haven, Pa.) – Jenna Richter (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) and Mandy Alderfer (Harleysville/Souderton) each tallied six-point games to lead the Lock Haven University (4-5, 3-4 PSAC) women’s lacrosse team to a 15-5 victory over No. 8-ranked Shippensburg University (5-3, 5-2 PSAC) in conference action this afternoon at Charlotte Smith Field.
While the Haven got off to a slow start in the two teams’ meeting earlier this season when the Raiders won, 11-10, the momentum this time belonged all to the Lady Eagles.  Lock Haven rattled off ten unanswered goals, including three from Amy Richter (
Long Valley , N.J./West Morris Central), to hold a 10-0 lead with 8:41 left in the first period.
Shippensburg’s Page Heath ended the Raiders’ scoring drought with just 1:51 remaining before the half to bring the margin to 10-1. Before the half would end, however, the Haven’s Mandy Alderfer tacked one more goal onto the score to maintain the 10-goal lead, 11-1.
The Raiders’ Heath added two more scores and Cristin Marron would tally a pair of goals in the second half for the visitors. The Haven responded each time, however, keeping the score spread with another four of its own including a pair from Alderfer.
Mandy Alderfer posted four goals and two assists while Jenna Richter had two goals and four assists in the win. Amy Richter added three goals, all in the first half, while both Diana Strizki (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central) and Jean Kearney (Springfield/Springfield) had two goals and an assist. Stephanie Wood (Califon, N.J./West Morris Central) and Katie Kenney (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) each added a goal. Keeper Christie Dunning (Ivyland/Central Bucks East) stopped six Shippensburg shots on goal.
Shippensburg’s Page Heath had three goals and an assist while Cristin Marron added two goals. Keeper Kelby Vanous came up with a total of 10 saves.
            The
Lock Haven University lacrosse team next travels to #10 Bloomsburg University on Sat., April 10, at 1 p.m.
