(West Chester, Pa.) - The Lock Haven University lacrosse team (8-9, 7-5 PSAC) saw its 2004 campaign draw to a close this evening as it fell, 17-5, to top-seeded West Chester University (16-2, 12-0 PSAC) in the semifinal round of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament. 
            West Chester set the tone early, scoring the first five goals of the game.  The Haven’s Diana Strizki (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central) and Jenna Richter ( Long Valley , N.J./West Morris Central) finally broke free of the Ram defenders to wrap up two goals before the close of the half, but WCU would score four in the final four minutes of the game to open up the game and take a 9-2 halftime lead.
            Shannon Houck (Gilbertsville/Boyertown)
scored twice in the second half and Strizki added another goal to bring LHU’s total to five goals. West Chester , however, poured in eight more tallies to roll to the 17-5 win.
            Both Houck and Strizki paced LHU with two goals each. In goal, Laura Carr (Warminster/Archbishop Wood) earned the start and went the full 60 minutes with 17 saves.
West Chester was led by Kathleen Sheehan who posted five goals, Danielle Roy with four goals and Katelyn Martin, who added three goals.
            No. 1-seeded
West Chester University will now host No. 3-seed Bloomsburg University on Sat., May 1, at 1 p.m. for the PSAC Championship title.  Bloomsburg defeated No. 2-seed Shippensburg University , 15-10, in the other semifinal.
